Giants at Orioles (9/18): Brandon Crawford's Three Hits Power Giants to 5-2 Win

Crawford Extends Hitting Streak to Seven Games

Brandon Crawford continued his hot hitting on Monday, going 3-for-5 with a double and two singles to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Giants shortstop has now reached base safely in 12 of his last 13 games and has raised his batting average to .298.

Giants Bullpen Shines Again

San Francisco's bullpen turned in another strong performance, allowing just one run on four hits over the final four innings. Sam Coonrod picked up the win with 1 1/3 scoreless innings, while Camilo Doval earned his 22nd save of the season with a perfect ninth inning. The Giants bullpen has now allowed just three runs over their last 24 innings.

Orange Crush Provides Early Support

The Giants jumped out to an early lead thanks to their power bats. Joc Pederson hit a solo home run in the first inning, and Brandon Belt followed with a two-run homer in the second. Mike Yastrzemski added an RBI single in the third to give the Giants a 4-0 lead.

Orioles Rally Falls Short

The Orioles fought back in the middle innings, plating two runs on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly. However, they were unable to push across any more runs, and the Giants held on for the victory.

Rogers Earns No-Decision Despite Strong Outing

Giants starter Alex Cobb allowed two runs on six hits over five innings of work. He struck out five batters but also walked three. Cobb did not factor into the decision, as the Giants bullpen took over after his departure.

Giants Improve to 71-72

With the win, the Giants improve to 71-72 on the season. They remain in third place in the NL West, but they are now just 2.5 games behind the San Diego Padres for the second wild-card spot.
